Anatomy of Style - Head | Patrick J Jones
The foundation of the success of award-winning fantasy and sci-fi artist and author Patrick J Jones, is his finely honed head drawing skills and his belief that understanding gesture is the key to drawing figures with style.
In this weekend head-drawing workshop, Patrick will introduce you to the forgotten secrets of the old masters and share his exciting and accessible head drawing methods and formulas developed over decades of presenting Masterclasses.
What will I learn?
Day one:
Drawing the head using basic shapes
Drawing the parts in depth:
Structure of the nose, eyes, ears, lips, neck and the head from various angles.
Day two:
Rendering the three quarter head in Charcoal
Rendering the three quarter head in Sanguine
Day two includes individual critique as your drawings progress.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Anyone who would like to learn to draw the human head.
What do I need to bring?
You can choose to bring more expensive toned paper if you choose. Any tone in the sepia range will do, otherwise this will be provided.
