About this workshop

The foundation of the success of award-winning fantasy and sci-fi artist and author Patrick J Jones, is his finely honed figure drawing skills and his belief that understanding gesture is the key to drawing figures with style.

In this weekend figure-drawing mentorship, Patrick will continue with the forgotten secrets of the old masters and share his exciting and accessible figure drawing methods and formulas developed over decades of presenting Masterclasses.

What will I learn?

Day One -
Draw along gesture studies:
Draw along with Patrick as he describes the thought processes and methods for drawing gesture studies.
Followed by one-one-one critique

Draw along quick studies:
Draw along with Patrick as he describes the thought processes and methods for drawing quick studies.
Followed by one-one-one critique

Draw along structural studies:
Draw along with Patrick as he describes the thought processes and methods for drawing structural studies.
Followed by one-one-one critique

Short Poses
Patrick will demo each stage for a finished drawing before mentoring one-on-one with each student as they lay in each stage.
