The foundation of the success of award-winning fantasy and sci-fi artist and author Patrick J Jones, is his finely honed figure drawing skills and his belief that understanding gesture is the key to drawing figures with style.

In this weekend workshop, Patrick will explore in greater depth more of his exciting and accessible methods and formulas for drawing human figures with style and grace.

What will I learn?

Through a combination of demonstrations, your own practice, and one-on-one feedback on your work, you will learn expert techniques and formulas for producing anatomically accurate, stylish and graceful human figures. This will include a focus on:

  • Advanced Figure drawing Methods
  • Drawing Foreshortening
  • Chasing Rhythms
  • Line into Tone
  • Overlapping Forms
  • Interlocking Forms
  • Weight and Mass
  • Sanguine Drawing
  • Drawing with Style

Who is this course suitable for?

Those who have completed the Anatomy of Style - Life Drawing for Beginners - Stage 1 or those with some drawing experience who would like to build their skills in drawing figures.
