Spend the weekend learning how to get the best results from using colour pencils as a fine art medium! Jan will share her extensive knowledge to either start newcomers off with this medium or help those with some experience to achieve more professional results.
Learn all about the differences in brands and types of pencils and what surfaces suit, along with experiencing a variety of techniques. There will also be time to finish some projects, and no drawing skills are required as references to transfer will be provided.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
Although this workshop is designed for beginners in watercolour, the more experienced are also welcome.
What do I need to bring?
Access to all materials will be provided by Bienarte which includes:
Albrecht Durer set of 36 – coloured pencils
Prismacolor Colourless Blender
Graphite pencil
2B Kneadable eraser
Rotary pencil sharpener
An A4 sheet of graphite transfer paper.
Drawing board – smooth
Masking tape
Soft- bristle brush for brushing away pencil crumbs
A4 Arches Hot Pressed watercolour paper
Battery operated eraser
Reference material – Jan will supply all references needed for this workshop.
Jan will have some very useful colour wheel books for sale for $39.95
Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by. We do have a fridge and microwave at the studio for your convenience.

About the Tutor
Jan Lawnikanis has been teaching art classes consistently for the past 25 years and tutored over 150 workshops in a variety of media. Students have praised Jan for her teaching skills and preparation which has gained her an excellent reputation with all ages.
Jan has been the featured artist in Australian Artist Magazine, with 5 full-length articles on using coloured pencils. Other publications include the Paradise Magazine-GC Bulletin, Art Newsflash, the International Watercolour Institute catalogue, the Coloured Pencil Magazine, the Australian Coloured Pencil Network, Art Edit magazine and Artwise textbook for the Australian Curriculum.
Her award-winning artworks hang in many private and corporate collections.
