Paula de la Rua Cordoba

Paula de la Rua Cordoba is a Brisbane-based ceramicist and sculptor passionate about nature and plants working with porcelain and wood to create intricate, large botanical scale sculptures and art installations.
Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Paula has an academic background that spans years, with knowledge in Art History, Restoration of oil on canvas and teaching before moving to Brisbane in 2008. In Australia, she learned painting techniques at the Brisbane Institute of Art and obtained a Diploma of Visual Arts at Southbank Tafe, a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Canberra and has recently achieved a Bachelor of Fine Art Honours (First Class) from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.
She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies with an artist portfolio complemented by a variety of events and exhibitions.
Paula has a background in teaching from Spain and in Australia she has experience teaching clay techniques to university students at the University of Canberra as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions and business commissions. She has recently opened her own ceramic studio and art gallery, Red, Blue & Yellow Ceramic Studio, aiming to provide a welcoming and supportive space for students to achieve their full potential while guided in the intricacies and joy of working with clay.
