About Us

Red, Blue & Yellow is run by ceramicist and sculptor Paula de la Rua Cordoba. Paula is passionate about nature and plants, working with porcelain and wood to create intricate, large botanical scale sculptures and art installations.

She has since studied painting techniques at the Brisbane Institute of Art and obtained: a Diploma of Visual Arts at Southbank TAFE; a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Canberra; and a Bachelor of Fine Art Honours (First Class) from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.

She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies with an artist portfolio complemented by a variety of events and exhibitions.
Paula has a background in teaching from Spain and in Australia she has experience with teaching clay techniques to university students at the University of Canberra as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions and business commissions.

About Our Studio

Paula has recently opened the ceramic studio and art gallery, Red, Blue & Yellow Ceramic Studio, aiming to provide a welcoming and supportive space for students to achieve their full potential while guided in the intricacies and joy of working with clay.

About the Workshops

A 3-hour workshop will run every second Saturday from 11AM - 2PM at our Ceramic Workshop and Studio in Jindalee: Red, Blue & Yellow, while you sip a glass of wine and enjoy a cheese platter.

The beginner’s class is designed for you to learn the 3 main techniques used in hand-built ceramics:
Pinch pot
Soft slab

Paula will provide all the materials required as well as different kinds of clay for you to experience a variety of textures and approaches to hand-building with ceramics. Paula will demonstrate each technique to the class, then you will be encouraged to create your own ceramic bowls, cups, plates and flower vases under Paula’s personal guidance.
Suitable for adults and children (minimum 8 years old, supervised by an adult). This class is great for individuals, couples, parents and children, events, team-building activities, hen parties, etc.

What You Have To Show For It

3 to 4 small/ medium pieces, glazed and fired at the studio kiln to be collected 7-10 days after.

Note: Minimum class size to run the workshop is 6, if there are not enough students to run the class you will be enrolled in the next available workshop.
