Painting Yellow Wattle in Watercolour | Jessie Rose Ford
We are delighted to announce that Jessie Rose Ford is coming back to Brisbane!
In this two-day workshop Jessie will guide you through her step-by-step process to create your own botanical painting of a Yellow Wattle, working from a photograph. Over the two days you will be shown how to master important watercolour techniques, specifically for use on botanicals, while learning the process of layering watercolours to achieve a realistic painting.
What will I learn?
• An easy method for transferring an outline drawing from your photograph
• Basic colour theory
• Matching and mixing the correct colour
• Watercolour techniques including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and dry brush
• How to avoid muddy watercolour paintings
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop welcomes students of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced.
What do I need to bring?
Rent a kit for $50 which will include everything you will need for the 2 day workshop! Alternatively please bring the following:
Pencils - 2H, HB, 2B
Kneadable Eraser
Drawing Paper - smooth texture
Watercolour Paper - 300gsm Smooth/ Hot Press
Watercolour Paints - Lemon Yellow, Scarlet Lake, Ultramarine Blue
Brushes - suggested sizes 000, 2, 4 and 6
Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by.
