About this workshop

This three day workshop will focus on painting a waterfall, painting transparent water and painting moving water.
Painting a Waterfall – Moving Water – Transparent Water

What will I learn?

The workshop will cover some basic composition. Colour mixing, tonal value, light and shadow and tips and techniques for helping these paintings come to life. We will cover these subjects over the three days learning techniques to help improve your skills with these subjects. The good execution of water can make or break a painting.

WORK ALLA PRIMA method with attention to SAFER, NON-TOXIC, NON SMELLY, OIL PAINTING.

Who is this workshop suitable for?

All Robyn’s workshops are TURPS-FREE OIL PAINTING – for beginners to advanced.

What do I need to bring?

CANVAS BOARDS or stretched canvas on board. 3 X 12" x 16" (31cm x 41cm)

Robyn recommends good quality canvases – WELL PRIMED. Cheap boards make the job of painting a lot harder as the paint does not flow on very well and you will find yourself filling in a lot of little holes)

BRUSHES

A good selection of reasonable quality long, FLAT SQUARE bristle brushes or Filberts – some small, medium, and large.
A stiff synthetic round 0 and 2 and a fine synthetic sable for detail 0 or 00. (Art Basics 101 Flat bristle are good).
PLEASE DO NOT BRING WORN-OUT BRUSHES OR ONES GUNKED UP AT THE FERRULE. Bring brushes in good condition.

COLOURS – Artist quality where possible.

REDS Pilbara Red
GREENS Viridian – Sap Green
BLUES Blue Black (Winsor and Newton) or Payne’s Grey – Ultramarine Blue
YELLOWS Cadmium Yellow and Australian Red Gold if you have it.
BROWNS Burnt Sienna
WHITE Titanium White
