Portraiture In Watercolour For 4 Weeks | Penelope Gilbert-Ng
What will I learn?
We shall look at and do exercises on parts of the face, eyes, noses, mouths, ears and then paint the face to completion.
We shall be doing techniques of watercolour layering and colour mixing and lost found and soft edges to create a portrait.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This is suitable for beginners to intermediate students.
What do I need to bring?
Please refer to the Materials List for items to bring with you, or alternately book the rental kit in advance (see below):
- Bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by. We do have a fridge at the studio for your convenience.

About Penelope Gilbert-Ng
Penelope Gilbert-Ng has been creating art for more than 40 years and is a sought-after judge for art competitions. An Archibald finalist for her pastel portraits, Penelope is inspired by the impressionist era, with her work exhibiting both finesse and a sensitive eye through which she coveys the inner essence of her subjects – capturing them in a realistic, yet not photographic way.
Penelope’s great passion for painting and never-ending fascination for people is not only evident in her work, but also in her years of teaching.
