Seascapes in Pastel | Lyn Diefenbach
Have you ever wanted to paint the sea in all its glory?
What will I learn?
This is an opportunity to create seascapes that have impact and life.
All aspects from the translucent wave, to rolling foam, to crashing impact will be covered in this workshop.
Who is this course suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, however basic knowledge and skills in pastels and colour is required
What do I need to bring?
Paper:
3 pieces 30 x 45cm (12” x 18”), or larger if you prefer - Fisher 400 (available from amazon.com.au) or UART 600 (available from softpastels.com.au)
Pastels:
Bring a selection of darks, mids, lights and brights.
Backing Board:
For Fisher 400 / UART 600 put another sheet of the Fisher 400 / UART 600 beneath the one you are working on, especially if your backing board is foam core. Ensure your padding doesn’t create ripples on the surface
Reference Photos: Please make sure these are large, clear images preferably with a good play of light and dark. If you are doing your own printing from a computer, make sure that you use photo quality paper NOT plain paper.
Other Materials:
¼” Angle Brush to brush away unwanted pastel or make corrections
Masking tape
Drop-sheet
Paper towel
Kneadable eraser
