Playing With Acrylics | Jenni Kelly
Be prepared to scrape, spray, roll and glaze paint! This workshop will introduce fellow artists to some Creative and Fun acrylics methods. In other words - "PLAY WITH ACRYLICS!"
You will leave the workshop with a greater understanding of Acrylics and a new found confidence. The work will be Impressionistic - Fun and Free (style of work)!!!
What will I learn?
Jenni will provide a step-by-step guide so you learn how to let loose and to be creative. You will explore and discover various ways to paint using unconventional methods of painting with some unusual tools!
Who is this suitable for?
All levels of experience are welcome!
What do I need to bring?
Acrylics
ACRYLIC PAINTS (any good brand) Atelier, Matisse
Most of the following colours are Atelier.
• Black, Titanium White, Pyrole Red or Cadmium Red, Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Jaune Brilliance
• (Matisse Structure) Permanent Green Leaf (Matisse Aqua Green) Pale Gold - this is metallic paint available in both Matisse Structure and Atelier
Professional high gloss varnish
Other items:
• Old Credit Cards/Plastic scrapers
• A few assorted pastels/charcoal.(For Sketching Image onto canvas)
• A few bristle brushes. One large house brush to varnish.(Can share).
• Water spray bottle, Chux rags, and a good size water container
• Pad for your notes and sample of techniques .
• One plastic fancy stencil
Canvas:
• Around 20x24 inches
Jenni Kelly suggests Art Shed or Bargain City store for an affordable Mont Marte canvas.
All canvases are to be primed with one coat of Gesso before we start.
Please bring some reference relating to the subject (I will also bring references.)
* Please bring an old towel to cover your table.
For just $50 you can have access to all the paints you need for this weekend workshop.
Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by.
About the Tutor
Jenni achieves a realistic expression in her creative freestyle painting leaving the viewer free to exercise their own imagination. These paintings have an appealing sense of colour, freedom and movement with subjects close to nature. Jenni regularly exhibits throughout Australia including 21 paintings hanging throughout the Holy Spirit Hospital at Chermside Brisbane.
