Back by popular demand Peter Griffen from Sydney, will take you on a journey of abstraction, colour and energy. There will be particular emphasis on composition, line, strong colour and collage. In this workshop, you will ‘take a line for a walk’ and enter the world of abstraction.

What will I learn

A wide range of ideas and techniques to get you experimenting with abstraction, including:
• ‘abstract loosening up’ exercises, to help you to begin working in your own individual way
• responses to still life objects, using approximations and abstractions.
• collaging, including inventing and experimenting with new techniques
• using vivid colour
• engaging your intuition and free thinking
•to use a variety of different approaches from splashes, dripping, scraping and collaging, to create a truly imaginative abstract work.

Reference material on contemporary art will also be available for inspiration. This is a hands-on experimental, abstract and semi-abstract painting workshop.
