Colour Connection For Acrylics | Joan Blond

Colour Connection For Acrylics | Joan Blond

Colour Connection for Acrylics

About this class

It’s time to work large and bold using lots of colour and large shapes. Joan will be teaching you the techniques and process around creating her beautiful large-scale abstract artworks. You will spend the first day completing 2 smaller abstracts and then move to a larger canvas on the Sunday.

What will I learn?

Over the 2 days you will be learning:

  • Colour mixing and how to create colours that work ‘together’ on the canvas
  • Surface Preparation
  • Composition and how to make your abstract artwork look balanced on the canvas
  • Layering: How to work with the beneficial quick-drying temperament of acrylics to your advantage and layer colours
  • Mark Making: How to use a variety of mark-making to your artwork to create texture and interest
  • Finishing Touches: What is needed at the end of artwork to finish it off and bring it to life
