About the workshop

Designed for the absolute beginner, this workshop will introduce you to the wonderful world of watercolour painting! Jan will guide you step-by-step with learning all the basics you’ll need to create simple paintings of gum leaves, plants and flowers of Australia. No drawing skills are required as references will be provided to transfer. Have an amazing weekend where all the materials are supplied, accomplishing paintings that you didn’t think were possible!

Who is this workshop suitable for?

Although this workshop is designed for beginners in watercolour, the more experienced are also welcome.

What do I need to bring?

All materials will be provided.

Please bring your lunch and snacks or you can purchase from cafes close by. We do have a fridge and microwave at the studio for your convenience.

What is provided?

• tea, coffee and biscuits (please bring your own cup)

About the Tutor

Jan Lawnikanis has taught regular art classes on the Gold Coast for the past 24 years and tutored over 100 workshops in various locations around Queensland and NSW. Students in all mediums have praised Jan for her teaching skills and this has gained her an excellent reputation with all ages.

Jan has been the featured artist in Australian Artist Magazine, with 5 full-length articles on using coloured pencils. Other publications include the Paradise Magazine-GC Bulletin, Art Newsflash, the International Watercolour Institute catalogue, the Coloured Pencil Magazine, the Australian Coloured Pencil Network, Art Edit magazine and Artwise textbook for the Australian Curriculum.
