Exploring Colour | John Lovett

Exploring Colour | John Lovett

In this workshop, as well as exploring techniques combining watercolour with other mediums, we will examine a number of different approaches, processes and techniques to take control over colour in our paintings. Rather than simply reproducing the colours we see, we will discover ways to manipulate colours to give much more impact to our work.

Join John Lovett for three days of hands on fun and discovery.

What will I learn?

Under John's guidance and demonstrations, you will learn how to: Carefully examine subjects before manipulating them with a series of thumbnail sketches to clarify and adjust the composition. Extract maximum impact from the subject, not merely reproduce it. Examine a number of different watercolour techniques and also incorporate gouache, gesso, ink and charcoal into our paintings.

You will be provided with a variety of subjects, as well as plenty of advice and assistance from John. You will also have ample opportunity to put your learning into practice, have a lot of fun and perhaps even produce some masterpieces!
